NEW CLASS!
INTERMEDIATE PAINTING
I’m now offering a new course at Westbury Arts Centre, MK – for those who have been painting a little while but who’d like to develop their skills a bit further.
This will be a small group of no more than six, allowing for plenty of individual attention when it’s needed. The aim is to offer opportunities to try different approaches and ideas, taking inspiration from well-known artists.

Mondays: Portraiture, 10.30 – 12.30
Tuesdays: Beginners Painting, 10.30 – 12.30
Tuesdays: Life Drawing, 19.00 – 21.00

For the time being, my classes at The Barn in Heath and Reach have paused due the pandemic. However, I may be able to offer one or two extra sessions at Westbury Arts Centre very soon – watch this space!
Lockdown and classes
I will be showing short tutorials here for the next few weeks to coincide with online Zoom meetings for each class. To find the relevant tutorial, please use the menu above to navigate to “Tutorials” and scroll down for the demonstration you wish to view.

Please note: the Tuesday morning Life Drawing class will begin a little later this term, starting on 25th February for five weeks.
Next term’s Dates
The Summer Term 2019 will begin on Monday 29th April and run until Monday 15th July.
Please note: There won’t be any classes on 6th, 27th, and 28th May or 16th July. Monday sessions are slightly staggered to accommodate the Bank Holidays and Half-Term.
You are invited to an Exhibition…
I am having a solo exhibtion of some of my work at The Eagle Gallery, Bedford, eaglegalleryartists in March. ENTRY FREE. I would be delighted if you could come along and have a look!
The exhibition features works in oils, pastels, ink and watercolours that have all been made with the person there, in front of the artist. Some are portraits that show direct connection with the sitter and include significant objects that are meaningful to them, giving vital clues to their personality. Others are characters re-imagined from fairy tales, folklore and Shakespeare. Also included are nude figure studies from life.
Private View: Friday 1st March, Invitation only. Please get in touch if you would like to attend.
“Meet the Artist” Sat. 2nd March 10- 5.30pm. I shall be there all day and happy to show some of my sketchbooks and talk about my work.

New for Autumn!
WATERCOLOURS : New class beginning October 30th
If you’ve always wanted to try watercolours but feel a bit apprehensive, or if you already use watercolours but would really like some help – come and join this gentle and instructive class! For more information look in the drop-down menu under “Classes” above right.
All my ART CLASSES have paused, now, for the summer – but start again on Monday 17th September. However NOW is as good a time as any to book your place!

It’s the end of Term!
It’s come round so fast, but next week all my classes are coming to an end for the summer! We start again the week beginning 17th September.
In the meantime, I’m offering the “Landscape-on-Location” workshops once again this July. For details about these “plein air” painting sessions (and photos from last year’s adventures!) plus info about Saturday workshops (including Acrylics and Portraits) planned for the Autumn, please click “Workshops” in the menu at the top of this page.

Workshop cancelled
Unfortunately I’ve had to cancel the forthcoming workshop“Beginners’Drawing” which was due to take place on Saturday 3rd February. This will be offered again at a later date. Apologies to anyone who was hoping to come along!
I will be offering some more dates in the near future – look out for a Saturday workshop on Acrylic Painting and also Watercolours coming soon…
